There’s nothing that feels better than resting your head on a soft, fluffy pillow at the end of a long day. But with so many pillows to choose from, it can be difficult to find the perfect one for you and your sleep style. That’s why we recommend the Beckham Hotel Collection Bed Pillows. Sold in a set of two on Amazon at a price that’s hard to beat, this 2024 Good Housekeeping Best Bedding Awards winner is worth every penny, whether you’re a side, stomach, back or combination sleeper.
The fiber scientists and product analysts in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab test all types of pillows, including pillows for side sleepers, down pillows, down alternative pillows, memory foam pillows and more. We use specialized equipment to evaluate pillows and consider feedback from at-home sleep testers to find the ones worth buying. Since joining GH three years ago, I’ve personally tested more than 10 types of pillows, and most recently switched to the Beckman Hotel Collection set to find out whether it’s worth the hype. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about these best-selling pillows and whether they’re the right choice for you, based on testing data from our Lab experts as well as my experience (and that of eight other testers) sleeping on them at home.
What are the Beckham Hotel Collection pillows?
The Beckham Hotel Collection bed pillows are Amazon best-sellers featuring more than 165,000 five-star ratings. They’re sold in a set of two and are filled with soft, fluffy down alternative material that consumers rave about online. After sleeping on the pillow myself, I agreed with the online community; it reminded me of good hotel pillows, except even better. Even though it’s a relatively basic pillow, it looks good and feels good. It also performed exceptionally well in Lab tests and costs just a fraction of the price of other popular models.
Bonus: The Beckhman Hotel Collection pillows arrive quickly with Prime Delivery, and they’re machine washable.
How much do Beckham Hotel Collection pillows cost?
Two Beckham Hotel Collection pillows cost around $60, making them about $30 per pillow. That’s an affordable price, especially when compared to other down alternative pillows that can easily set you back upwards of $100 per pillow. A King set of the Beckhman Hotel Collection bed pillows is a bit pricier at $80, or $40 per pillow, but it’s still a steal if you ask me.
What materials are Beckham Hotel Collection pillows made of?
Though these pillows are filled with polyester, the outer cover is made of 100% cotton which gives them a refined look and feel. Both the fill and the outer cover felt better than I expected them to, and our testers agreed. “The outer material is amazingly soft and looks so luxurious!” said one tester, describing the down alternative fill as “so fluffy and cushiony, yet still supportive.”
The brand does claim that the pillow has “cooling properties,” which I personally haven’t noticed, but it hasn’t made me overheat either and I’m a notoriously hot sleeper.
Our review of the Beckham Hotel Collection pillows
GH Institute analysts in the Textiles Lab were impressed by how well the pillow held up in performance and durability tests for its affordable price point. It held up fairly well to our durability tests, meaning that there wasn’t too much shrinkage or damage to its appearance witnessed after washing (and yes, it’s fully machine washable and dryer safe for easy cleaning). It also fit perfectly in a Standard-size pillowcase for easy bed-making. “The caveat was that you needed to fluff it a fair amount, especially when you first receive it as it comes compressed/rolled up. It can feel lumpy otherwise,” said Grace Wu, Textiles Lab product analyst at the Good Housekeeping Institute.
The Beckham Hotel Collection pillow reminds me of the type of pillow you’d find in a hotel, except it doesn’t disappoint by falling flat 10 seconds after you’ve laid on it. “The down alternative filling is soft and molds itself to my head and neck keeping it at a comfortable angle. It maintains its shape throughout the night,” said one tester. While testing it, I agree that it held its shape pretty well throughout the night and I didn’t catch myself waking up to fluff it or turn it over. So though it may not be my new favorite pillow, I’m confident recommending it for most people and its great performance in our tests shouldn’t be overlooked. Plus, it fits into standard or king pillowcases beautifully and looks absolutely fantastic on my bed.
Meanwhile, most consumer testers found that the pillow was supportive, comfortable and didn’t cause any soreness. “The pillow feels substantial and is well-filled,” said Noah Pinsonnault, product analyst at the Good Housekeeping Institute. “It doesn’t flatten out when I rest my head on it, but it’s not hard to squish it into different shapes either. Its versatility makes it comfortable for sleeping or for sitting up and reading a book.”
But while many liked the pillow and will continue to use it, it was still outperformed by other pillows that were ultimately more comfortable and held onto their shape more effectively. Some side sleepers also complained that the pillow wasn’t supportive enough.
Final Thoughts: Is the Beckham Hotel Collection worth it?
If you’re trying to outfit a guest bed quickly or need a set of extra pillows, the Beckham Hotel Collection Bed Pillows can be an excellent choice. Though the pillow wasn’t supportive enough for some of our side sleeper testers, especially users with a larger frame, it was a good fit for many combination sleepers like myself. While I didn’t like sleeping on it quite as much as some of my go-to memory foam pillows or super fluffy down ones, I was still pleased with my experience. And it’s important not to forget that it costs significantly less than some other popular pillows you’ll come across.
